Guanabee Photo Exclusive!: The Bank Of America Is Literally Crumbling All Over Midtown

bank2.jpg

Our bossperson, Daniel, was walking around Midtown Manhattan when suddenly huge chunks of a plate glass window began falling to the sidewalk. “Whence this glass!” he cried, loudly, upsetting a few tourists and a Halal chicken and rice vendor. Turns out the Bank of America building on 6th and 43rd was quite literally falling apart around 5 P.M. today. Truly, a metaphor for today’s harsh economic climate and all the current hullaballoo surrounding Lehman Brothers and the like. Entire portions of plate glass window fell from the building’s 50th floor, which was under construction. So far, there have been no injuries reported, neither among passerby below nor from people working in the first 30 floors of the building.

Pictures of the incident, taken by Daniel as tourists asked if they were near the Statue of Liberty, after the jump:

The economy has gone to shit. And so has construction. This is, apparently, the 4th time the building’s new windows have fallen, with construction workers blaming the wind, as careless alcoholics are wont to do.

This is why we don’t hang out in Midtown.

Typical New Yorkers. Unfazed, uninterested. Take comfort in knowing they’re probably going to be inadvertently sitting in a puddle of dry hobo urine on their subway ride home.

These firemen are wondering when they can leave and get some fro-yo. With sprinkles.

Comments

I can be “fro-yo with sprinkles”, when the mood is right.
