In this AP video interview, actor Matt Damon gives voice to the concerns of so many anti-Palin Americans. “I need to know if she thinks dinosaurs were here 4,000 years ago because she’s going to have the nuclear code,” he says. He also says actuarial reports give John McCain a one in three chance of surviving his first term, (which, it turns out, is not really true), making the idea of Palin in the White house “like a really bad Disney movie” where the “Hockey Mom from Alaska” ends up “facing down Vladimir Putin.” He’s right. We’d totally not go see that movie. Someone’s definitely fucking Matt Damon tonight and his name rhymes with yo mama.

So this is the most inspired thing you have to say about this? There’s disaffected, and then there’s just stupid. Disappointing, to say the least.

“Because she’s gonna have the nuclear codes….”
Regardless of the actuarial probabilities the really scary fact is that we’re really too damn close to either one of those pandering puppets becoming the next talking head for the Far Right Holy Republican agenda.Nuclear war is the absolute worst case scenario. Scary as it is, the more immediate worry is the Draconian Abortion reforms they’ll most definitely get pushed through if they can appoint any of the three Supreme Court seats that are likely to become open within the next Presidents term in office. They’re gonna have the nuclear codes, and they’re going to push the buttons with a wire hanger prosthetic for a hand.

I can’t believe I sat here going, “what guy’s name rhymes with yo mama…what guy’s name rhymes with yo mama…?”
I just woke up, okay?
It is interesting to ponder what Supreme Court justices the Sarracuda would appoint. Is Torquemada available?

The GOP is working on reviving Pinochet.

why does Jonathan even come here? this blog is clearly not his style but he keeps coming back. it would be nice if he had something intelligent or thought-provoking to say. but he just complains and that is boring.

Since I have had such a stressful week I have decided that for the next couple of days I will bitch at Jonathan. Jonathan stop being a wet noodle.
Posted by Daniel Mauser | September 11, 2008
Hmm. My guess is that Jonathan comes here to advertise his very own Latino blog Jonathan Torres : Social Pundit. How cute. Whats not cute is his attempt at sarcasm, the link leads to the NY Times. HA! Sarcasm is soooo original, especially when used in comments left on blogs! Apparently in Jonathan’s eyes the NY Times are more of an authority on pop culture from a Latino perspective than Guanabee. Jonathan strikes me as the sort of dude that takes blogs and their influence over peoples thoughts way too seriously. Hence his need to change the subject to something he deems more appropriate, without any regard to the topic under discussion.

All: The only reason I’ve been bitching on this site so much is because lately it’s simply been filled with nonsense completely unrelated to what I thought this blog was supposed to be about. Latino pop culture, politics, and issues. Matt Damon, Russel Brand, Jordin Sparks, and Ellen is not the kind of crap I come to this blog for. I can get my fill for that stuff just clicking on my “I’m Feeling Lucky” button on the google search bar.
If I came here to promote my own blog, I’d make some absurd comment and blatantly post a link to my site, which I’ve never done an could’ve done with the story above. If you decided to click on my name, you chose to do that within the boundaries that are allowed by this site. I’ve never claimed that my blog is geared for latinos (although I am one), nor do I present my opinions as such.
When I see that Venezuela is going to hell-in-a-hand basket, I’d like to turn to a site where I can actually gauge other people’s opinions from my own culture and present my own opinions in a reasonable discourse.
I keep coming back because I appreciate what you’re trying to do and certainly have no plans on taking on the task you’ve chosen. Now that I see you’re up-to-date on Venezuela, I’ll be on my way. For now.

@Jonathan: That’s all well and good but answer me these two things:
1. is naomi still with hugo and
2. are the russians there because naomi had a hankering for some real caviar.

1. Yes
2. Yes… and the dessert (coke) party afterwards.

@ Jonathan:
Thanks for educating us on Venezuela…..being raised there for 15 years didn’t quite do the trick. What a godsend you are.

In jonathan’s defense, we are going to hell in a handbasket with this political media circus. I feel your pain J!
Posted by La Cindy | September 11, 2008
JROD: I wasn’t. My parents are Colombian, and I still have lots of family members there throughout the country, so I apologize if I’m not “connected”, but you can bet your ass I’m worried about that maniac for ALL of South America.
THX Cindy!

I think guanabee should keep posting video of incredibly hot men talking about politics and sex, a la Matt Dillon talking about dinosaurs and Javier Bardem talking about. whatever it is he wants to talk about.
Also: Palin. is. terrible.

The truly great thing about Latinos, generally speaking of course, is that we are very catholic in our tastes and outlooks. We do not interest ourselves only in people “like us.” If you do not know this, you have no clue about Latino culture. Eclecticism is at the core of our very culture. Guanabee’s choice of topics in this regard is flawless. Except for all that Norteno stuff. Who likes that crap?
