National Enquirer Says It Has Proof That Sarah Palin Had An Affair. We Are Tired.
3 September 2008, 11:05 PM. By Guanabee Staff

The National Enquirer is being threatened with a lawsuit today by John McCain and Co. for alleging that Republican Vice-Presidential candidate Sarah Palin had an extra-marital affair with the her husband’s business partner. We have to say that this situation with Sarah Palin is starting to remind us of the 2000 movie The Contender where a female Vice-Presidential candidate, played by Joan Allen, is announced to the press and all hell breaks loose. Sex scandals are reported that, of course, end up not being true, but not before the woman is dragged through the mud to the detriment of her political career. Now, don’t get us wrong. We think Sarah Palin is one scary ass ho. She’s an ardent member of Feminists for Life, an anti-abortion group that loosely interprets the word feminism to fool young women into having babies they can’t afford. She doesn’t believe in giving gays the right to marry and she hates polar bears. Do we really need to dredge up who she fucked or who she birthed to get people to not vote for her?
If you ask us, it’s only going to produce sympathy from the undecided voters who are obviously not paying attention to the facts. The scary thing is, what would ordinarily be dismissed as “just The Enquirer” is now being taken more seriously because of a certain other political sex scandal they just broke concerning John Edwards and his love child. A spokesman for The Enquirer promised The Huffington Post a longer report next week that delves into an alleged family fued within the extended Palin clan. We kind of hope they’re wrong. Those kids have been through enough.

Ironic that you would bring up The Contender considering the only way to perpetuate a faux, obnoxious, irrelevant, and damaging scandal is for media outlets to continually report on it.
And, while it would be discourteous of me to point out that this is a Latino-oriented blog that is going crazy with reports of white people from Alaska (we are all presumably American after all and entitled to gossip about public figures), I don’t see how any of this is constructive or entertaining. I can get this news from any news source (internet-, print-, or TV-based). Give me interesting news in English that I would otherwise have to turn over to Telemundo to get! Or are Guanabee bloggers so American-based they can’t find interesting stories relevant to Latinos? Why not send someone to a Spanish-speaking country for awhile and report on what’s happening there?
I’m very American-based, but it would be nice (and interesting) to have an English-language blog write about Spanish/Hispanic/Latino/Chicano culture. But in a manner that doesn’t feel like I’m being taught Latin American History by a white person.
If Guanabee isn’t what you are looking for, Fat Elvis, go look somewhere else. And don’t try to hide your neoconservative agenda behind your high horse. Bill Clinton got impeached because he couldn’t keep his pants on; if Sarah Palin has the same problem, it could save taxpayers lots of money to know what kind of person she is before she is elected.
If you want news about the Latino community here and in Spanish-speaking countries, learn freaking Spanish, don’t expect the Latino community to spoon feed it to you in English.
The right wing whooped it up when John Edwards got caught, and now they are outraged with the press? You can’t have it both ways. Cheating scum is cheating scum and all should be treated the same. Send her back to Alaska, she’s had her 15 minutes of fame. Maybe her, Edwards and Clinton can go on a speaking tour together. They can call it the “We have sinned” tour or some other catchy name. I’m sure they will make millions and all be very happy together.
Even as a hispanic I have to agree with Fat Elvis. Aside from the fact that I don’t agree with this blog politically (on most occassions), the reason I keep coming back to it is because from time to time you actually post on something that is culturally relevant or presented from a perspective on how it affects our culture and our people. If you can’t present it under those two points of expectations, why even bother? It may be time for you to start another blog…
Two comments on the actual post:
- so now it’s ok to abort babies you can’t afford? I’m all about pro-choice in cases of rape or incest, but irresponsible behavior and lifestyle is not an acceptable reason to end a life.
- although the Enquirer has been on point recently, I’d like to believe this isn’t true. If that turns out to be the case, I’d consider it a blatant attempt to scandalize her as you mentioned above for the mere goal of ruining her politcally and there should be some kind of retribution for it.
I love that tired-ass conflation of “white” with “not Latino,” Fat Elvis.
Sorry Fat Elvis, but we’re Americans and who gets elected to the White House next is THE most relevant thing in the world for us to be talking about right now. So don’t come here expecting us to be discussing how to make piñatas or whatever the hell it is you think is “relevant to Latinos.”
Talking about politicians who will have a big influence on policy that affect issues (i.e. the economy, health care, education, immigration) that are relevant to the Latino community is totally appropriate, in my book, for guanabee.
@Jonathan: It’s irresponsible to to implement policies that take away access to affordable birth control leading to higher rates of unplanned pregnancy. Look up the Deficit Reduction Action that was implemented in 2006 and it’s effect on the price of birth control. The right is doing it’s best to make sure that what happened with the DRA doesn’t get reversed. And please, don’t come at me with the argument that people should just not have sex. We all know that it’s not going to happen. What we need are pracitical solutions, not ideology forced down our throats.
“Feminists for Life” do not encourage practical solutions to decreasing the amount of abortion. They are a front that reappropriate the hard work and language of so many feminists and turn it around for their own patriarchal causes. Palin’s stance on reproductive health/justice, the environment, and her actions as governor just don’t cut it in my book. Also, as a community organizer, I found it very offensive how she dissed us last night. I’d like to see her knock on doors and work with the community face to face.
Since when is birth control not affordable? I can walk into a planned parenthood office and walk out with a FREE handful of condoms. I can assure you that they can also provide women with affordable contraception (if not free as well) if the guy isn’t man enough to sling one on.
If you would’ve read the post or my comment correctly, I was addressing the comment that “an anti-abortion group that loosely interprets the word feminism to fool young women into having babies they can’t afford”. In other words, not being able to afford raising a child is grounds for abortion. Really? Guanabee’s got issues and a crazy ass set of priorities.
@ Jonathan: Do you have a uterus? If so, then you get to decide what you do with yours. You have no right to tell me what to do with mine. Mind your own business and keep your uterus to yourself.
@Jeni: I’m a Libertarian. I support the legalization of marijuana and prostitution. Neo-conservative agenda? Why do people constantly feel the need to attribute opinions to others just to feel justified in their own opinions? Defend what you believe, but don’t presume to know what I believe.
And the point of Guanabee is to provide “Gossip, Pop Culture, and Lifestyle” information IN ENGLISH to a Latino audience. Why should I learn Spanish? Isn’t the point of this blog to bring me relevant Latino news IN ENGLISH. Even if it just translated stories from other Spanish websites, I feel like it would be more relevant than it is right now.
Also, Jeni, when did I say anything about my opinion towards Palin’s possible affair and Bill Clinton? You’re ridiculous. Nothing you said has any relevance to what I posted.
@La Cindy: Is the understanding of this blog that it’s being read by American-based Latinos? I get that it’s in English, but Latinos don’t have to be American to read it. If it’s American-oriented, then, fine, I admitted before I get why they’re posting about the elections. My point is that their posts aren’t constructive or mildly entertaining to me (an American-based Latino).
@Amanda: I combine “white” and “not Latino” because it’s easy. I’m Mexican/Tejano and I can guarantee that most Mexicans/Tejanos immediately exclude white people from possibly being Latino. It’s not right or accurate (even within my own family) but it’s simple and common. I wasn’t taking a political or social stance on the issue of terminology or else I would have chosen my words better.
Bill Clinton was different, you left-wing, liberal, pinko Communist know-nothings. He was a liberal and a Democrat and his wife wears pansuits. Worse, he was doing shit as president that actually worked. He had to be taken down. So reporting on his sexual capers was the American thing to do.
This Palin babe, though, is a red-blooded conservative gal who opposes all the things that real Americans oppose and usually don’t practice except for guys like Larry “The Stomper” Craig, he of the wide stance and tall tales. For one thing, Palin is hot and for another thing she has nice tits and an ass that hasn’t gotten too broad despite helping squeeze out five kids. Did you see that Internet photograph of her in a star-spangled bikini and holding (deep breath) a BIG. . .LONG. . .HARD. ..rifle? Ohmamma.
What’s more, she was once a beauty contestant and though she lied about winning Miss Congeniality, she was probably real congenial back in her high school days when the Alaskan nights were long and cold and even the sled dogs were starting to look good to the guys on the football team. When Sarah keeps shouting “drill here, drill now,” I get all tingly. I tell you what, that little doe could field dress me anytime she wanted to, but only after she first un-dressed me. Heh heh heh.
Anyway, picking on Sarah Palin just because she enjoys a little strange and just because she is so opposed to sex education that she won’t even educate her own offspring or herself (who also got knocked up before marriage) is plain damned wrong. Sarah is a reformer, a new breed, a hot babe, and a naughty thang who even looks good in those librarian glasses. She’s just what President McCain will need on those long, lonely Oval Office nights when his rapidly drying and seriously skinny wife is off helping children or removing land mines or whatever First Ladies do while their husbands are licking a new lollipop. It seems to me that both Sarah and Johnny Mac know how to have a good time, married or not. I’d call it a perfect matchup. Sarah is a running mate well worth mating, that’s for damned sure.
By the way, since she is said to be a skilled and enthusiastic moose hunter, the Republican folks might wanna keep her away from Dan Quayle’s wife. Could be nastier than a Dick Cheney bird-hunting trip. Remember that Quayle woman? Yeow. You’d ask her to count and she’d stomp out the answers. Still gives me chills to think of her.
“In other words, not being able to afford raising a child is grounds for abortion. Really?”
Yes, yes it is. I’m Pro Mandatory Abortion. Here is how it works.
1) Get preggers
2) Show me (or some gov agency TBD) your P&L statement.
- If you are wealthy, congrats, go have your baby! What happens if you are not able to afford raising a child? Please go to step 3
3 )Take an IQ test.
Pass? Congrats, go have your baby!
What happens if you fail both? No worries, MANDATORY ABBY! Problem solved.
@Right Winger, please post more often. Hilarious!
@Fat Elvis, you’re a moron. It’s like me saying I want go to a gringo-oriented web site expecting discussion on how to conduct a lynching and make pointy KKK hats. I give you credit credit for having more interests than that. How do you get the point to go up so high, though?
Fat El Vis you want second hand latino culture? Go to Taco Bell and get a gordito with extra cheese flavored sauce. Or check back here next week. There might be a story about Sarah banging her hispanic gardener by then.
What’s good for the gander is good for the goose. Edwards was dragged through the mud. Now, the repubs want to give Palin a pass? I don’t think so. Especially since she represents the party who claims to have a monopoly on family values.
was anyone else here better off 8 years ago?
I was
was anyone else here wondering why the McCain Camp is trying to run fast and disavow Bush?
I am
so is McCain admitting he was wrong about Bush?
is McCain saying he doesn’t mind talking about the Bush years?
which is it?
are we allowed to ask questions yet?
can anyone pelase describe for me the physical and philosophical differences between Sarah Palin and Lynn Spears?
why is OHIO annd VA, two battleground states, already starting to suppress young voters?
not on my watch!!!
Let’s start by saying that I am white. I have a son who is half mexican, half white and an ex husband who is a mexican national. I love hispanic culture and grew up in Southern California surrounded by it. I lived in Spain for three years. So I am by no means racist. I just want to ask why every other race can talk shit about white people and not be racist. Brown pride, black pride etc. But if I walk around with a white pride shirt on I am a skinhead. If I talk shit or make an ignorant joke about blacks or hispanics, (which I personally do not do, I am speaking in general terms) I am a skinhead. But latinos looooove to talk shit about white people.
