In response to “Stylista,” a new reality series centered around Elle’s fashion news director (and, supposedly, Ms. Nina Garcia’s former rival) Anne Slowey, Nina Garcia will star in a similar series on the magazine industry for Marie Claire called “Running In Heels.” Because “Ugly Betty,” “Suddenly Susan,” “Just Shoot Me,” “I’m From Rolling Stone,” The Devil Wears Prada and approximately 56,345,293.4 chick-lit novels have not already offered a “sneak peek!” into the fast-paced, cut-throat world of magazine publishing:
[T]he show will follow different fashion and editorial employees at the magazine, from the top editors down to the interns.
How novel. Will it strip the veneer of this glamorous world and show what lies beneath? Oh, of course it fucking will:
Lauren Ruotolo, director-entertainment and promotions at Hearst, said the show is designed to show the actual lives of the women who struggle to balance the demands of work, home and family life. “We want to tell the true story of women working in fashion,” she said. “It will reveal what real life is like behind the shimmery curtain.”
It will not be a thinly-veiled attempt at product placement or an attempt at cashing in on Elle’s increased visibility on television. No, it’s all about hardworking women. There’s nothing bad about being sensational and good, clean, shallow entertainment! Just own it!
We might be completely alone in this, but do tell us if you agree: We find ourselves wondering why it is that Nina Garcia keeps being shuttled out in front of TV cameras. She’s consistently the least interesting aspect of “Project Runway” and is about as engaging and exciting as a beige tunic from Chico’s. Fashion is fun! Magazines are maddening! Why choose a thoroughly boring person to continually represent either?
Running in Heels’ Joins Stampede of Fashion Reality-Shows [AdAge]

If she was boring you wouldn’t have written about her and I wouldn’t have discovered your website from googling her name.
