Salma Hayek Producing New TV Series, “The New McToms”

Hey! What is that hot tamale Salma Hayek been up to lately? Why, continuing to make more money than you by producing shows that you will hopefully relate to, of course! Her latest project is “The New McToms,” a sitcom about our mom:

“The New McToms” centers on a conservative matriarch who must face the reality of her three children marrying ethnically diverse spouses.

Adds the source, spicily:

“McToms” carries the trademark ethnic flavor seen in most projects on Hayek’s TV slate, including the ABC dramedy “Ugly Betty,” which she executive produces.

Sit back for a moment and take in all that rush of flavor. Tastes a little like a tired stereotype, no? And maybe Doritos?

Why is the word “flavor” never used in describing Anglo things? Do Todd and Donna not add a dash of flavor to our weekly Scrabble-thons? Is that a quality inherent to becoming other than “White?” Because the impression we get from its usage is that we’re not people, really, but flavors of people. And, hi, if we’re going to be reduced to a taste, we get to decide which one to take. So, we’re going to go ahead and call dibs on “Sparkle Chihuahua Gumdrop Surprise.”
