Sarah Palin Hearts Planned Parenthood
19 September 2008, 12:30 PM. By Alex Alvarez
In between helpful tips on how to enl@rg3 our r0d, we got an email about a plan to donate to Planned Parenthood under Republican VP candidate Sarah Palin’s name. Because haha! That’ll teach her:
Instead of (in addition to?) us all sending around emails about how horrible she is, let’s all make a donation to Planned Parenthood. In Sarah Palin’s name. And here’s the good part: when you make a donation to PP in her name, they’ll send her a card telling her that the donation has been made in her honor.
Be sure to use the pulldown menu for Honorary or Memorial Donations, rather than just ‘Donate Online’.
Or, you could send money directly to Barack Obama’s campaign. Or Ralph Nader’s parrot. Because you’ve been so concerned with reproductive health that you’ve been sending Planned Parenthood donations this whole time, right? …Right?

Wow, thats a lot of dead animals in that pic.
@Guanabee: If yallz ever get knocked up I will help you out with the abortion but I’m not gonna give you money for birth control cause yallz shouldn’t even be having sex until marriage. *American Way*
@ Fredo: Aw! We don’t know why anyone wouldn’t want to keep their baby, though. Those things look so cute mounted above a loveseat.
DONATE to Obama if you have a problem with Sarah Palin. Because A) THATS what’s gonna keep her out of the VP (you know, besides not voting for her) and B. Really, Planned Parenthood doesn’t need your money actually. They changed their mission statement so that they could focus on providing care to upper-middle class women with private health insurance. They are going to be just fine.
@IntheBronx: As a proud employee of PP, I can tell you that our mission statement has not changed. Family Planning is always running the risk of being cut by the federal and state governments. In fact many of the affiliates in the south, like Texas, always run out of federal funding before the end of the fiscal year. They have to depend on the income generated from private pay clinics (which, btw, are still way less expensive than going to a regular dr’s office) to fund the free clinics. And, if you’ve been paying attention to the news about the recent HHS ruling, we’ll have to hire people who don’t believe in the mission of the organization b/c people who don’t believe in contraception have been discriminated against, supposedly. Or the Affordable Birth Control Campaign, where congress pretty much triple to quadrupled the price of b.c. in college centers and safety net clinics like PP. This isn’t to say that PP is a perfect organization, but seriously, they’ve done a lot for women.
@everyone: So yeah, PP is a great organization that has provided a lot of help for a lot of women, and I would recommend that you donate to smaller affiliates, like in Mississippi or in Texas.
