Little itsy bitsy teeny tiny famous hobbit-fetus Selena Gomez talked to the gorgeous people over at Blogamole about fame, Mexicanness and other super-fun topics. Turns out Selena, who stars on the Disney Channel series “The Wizards of Waverly Place,” loves being a Latina, and not only because she gets paid more for being one than we. Ever. Will:
What gives you the most pride about being Mexican?
There are a lot of things that make me prideful. [Ed. note: Oomph! That word’s a bit of a false friend. Awko taco.] For me it’s when I have moms come up to me after a show or taping and they say, ‘It’s so wonderful to see a Latina that my kids can look up to.’ I think that makes me feel so proud of where I come from because I do feel like it’s a huge step for the Disney channel to have their first Latin show. It’s incredible and I am happy to be a part of that family.
Fry that up in your chilaquile and eat it, Miley. Just kidding. We don’t pick on baby-people. Ha.
What other Latinos in entertainment do you really look up to?
I was actually having a heart attack not too long ago because I got to visit Salma Hayek at her office. I was so excited to meet her because when I was younger my family, and my dad in particular loved Salma. He always thought she was beautiful and even had a poster of her. I was like a little kid when I saw her…it was so exciting.
Aw. That’s exactly how we’d feel if we ever got to meet Charles Bronson.
We recently saw you at the Teen Vogue event. Do you consider yourself a fashionista at all?
No, not really. I love fashion and I love to dress up, but I kind of follow my own style. I wear whatever makes me feel comfortable.
Like hundred dollar bills? Selena also spoke a wee bit about boyfriend Nick Jonas:
Did you get a chance to celebrate Nick Jonas‘ birthday with him and the brothers?
I wished him a happy birthday and I hope he had a great birthday. On his actual birthday I was working so a phone call was pretty much the extent of it all.
Was there a surprise gift?
There was a gift. [Laughs]
What does that mean, Selena?! We’re actually pretty interested in finding out where Selena is going to be in about 5 years. Will she become the media’s “Token Fascinating Mainstream Latina” like America Ferrera? Or will today’s teen Disney stars prove a temporary trend and go the way of N*Sync and The Backdoor Boys?
Exclusive Entrevista: Selena Gomez [Blogamole]

She’s a beautiful girl and she’s going to be around for a while. I would definitely tap that, if she was legal of course.
