Because he cannot conceive that maybe just perhaps people voted for Clinton because of her merits and policies, and not because of her gender. Palin is simply a lucky opportunist who enjoys living by the "do as I say and not as I do" creed. She has Forrest-Gumped her way through scandal and this baby debacle because of the double standards Republicans hold for themselves and for everyone else.
