A sculpture of the Virgin Mary covered in rat poison labels will be on display as part of artist Jason Clay Lewis’ “Drop Dead Gorgeous” exhibit at 31GRAND gallery in Manhattan. Lewis’ work often uses religious images and themes like “purity.” He also paints “skull pin-ups” - sexy girls who look like they’ve just been attacked by a flesh-eating virus of some sort.
But is it useful art? The industry is all about capitalism anyway, JCL.
