El Museo del Barrio is hosting its annual Young International Circle (YIC) Benefit by inviting you to dress up, drink up and partaking in Lotería. There promises to be dancing, cocktails, a silent auction and a DJ set by Steven Love of Noveau Riche. We were lucky enough to attend last year’s event, which had a Dia de Los Muertos theme with lucha libre fighting and lots and lots of deer served by some ladies in hot pants.
Other highlights you can expect:
The West Side Loft will be decorated with installation paintings of oversized Lotería cards designed by Teresa Villegas. Orchid arrangements will be scattered throughout and guests will be able to warm their hands by the fireplace. Mini tamales, Mexican tacos, and quesadillas are among the Latin dishes being served for the Lotería.
