P.B. Loco: Peanut Butter Sandwiches To Make You Clinically Insane
14 October 2008, 2:00 PM. By Daniel Mauser
Heeeey people! Tired of you same old boring peanut butter? Well get cuhrazy and stick your face into a jar of one of P.B. Loco’s wildly flavored peanut butter! With flavors like Chocolate Chip Cookie Dough and Asian Curry Spice, you can cater to both your infantile and exoticizing tendencies. HIGH FIVE! Yo, this ain’t your mom’s peanut butter. Because she’s old! And an asshole:
P.B.Loco is peanut butter for adults who already know the scintillating pleasures of cold microbrews, left-of-the dial bands and independent movies. It’s for grownups who aren’t completely grown up and who are averse to button-down shirts, closed-toed sandals, and life without a dog.
So, basically, yuppies who live in Park Slope. That said, we’re not totally adverse to carrying tote bags with baby deer and sparrows or knitting hemp beanies for the child we don’t have (named “Luca Phineas”). So we wouldn’t slap you if you gave us this:
Dark chocolate peanut butter? We’d eat someone’s face if it were covered in this. Plus it’s free of trans-fats! No word on if it’s made by albino monks on an organic farm in Samoa. But! There are various P.B. Loco cafés (not “bistros,” sadly) that sell such sandwiches as:
YUMMER NUMMER: Your Choice of PB, Banana & Nutella® Spread
THE WACKO: Asian Curry Spice PB, Pickles, Coconut & Potato Chips
(Don’t even pretend you haven’t already made this while incredibly high, or at least given it a good twenty minutes of thought before wondering if that’s the police and/or your parents out in the hallway. Of your dorm room.)
THE MEMPHIS: PB, Bacon, Banana & Honey
MONKEY’S UNCLE: CocoaBanana PB, Mandarin Oranges & Granola
Check their website for store locations. Of course there are two opening in Miami, land of overpriced gelato vodka sandwich Asian salad cake rolls with mango chutney. Or whatever.

I could not resist and just ordered the Cocoa Banana PB. I hope it goes well on my pan Bimbo.
Although, I may just eat the whole thing right out of the jar. By myself. With my fingers.
@Latin_Princess: Let us know if it is really tasty!
God, I want to dive into a pool of that stuff! Although I guess that would get sticky.
@ Fredo: You got it. They have to ship it (I live in Dallas). Once it arrives I’ll write my comment at this post.
And I will send you a san-weesh if you want one. :)
this sounds good but the article makes me feel like i would be some sort of pretentious douchebag for eating some LOL love you guys *tear*
The PB has arrived!! I just tried it - I actually tried the Cocoa Banana and the Dark Chocolate Duo.
They are YUMMY!! In the Cocoa Banana, you really can taste the banana as much as you taste the peanut butter. The Dark Chocolate Duo is like a gooey peanut butter cup. They are quite tasty! Also, the calories, fat and other nutritional facts are almost identical to the peanut butter I regularly eat which is Skippy Natural. (The Cocoa Banana has 190 calories and 14g of fat for 2 tablespoons.)
However, I have to be fair and give you the bad news. The Dark Chocolate is really runny - almost the consistency of cake batter. I followed the directions on the jar and stirred it first. It was still runny so I stirred more but it was still runny. I can’t spread it on bread because it will run off. Which is fine because I may just bathe in it.
The Cocoa Banana is not runny but it’s not quite the thick, creamy consistency of the Skippy Natural. However, I could spread the Cocoa Banana on bread. It was a little thin but it was deeeeelish!
Come over on Saturday and I’ll share. Bring the bread.
@Latin_Princess: mmmm I wanna buy some now.
