People En Español Presents Leyendas, A Book On 100 Influential Hispanics
9 October 2008, 5:15 PM. By Alex Alvarez
People en Español are continuing in their grand tradition of celebrating mostly Caucasian Latinos who overwhelmingly work in entertainment with their new coffee table book, Leyendas. Whisper it fiercely: Leyendaaaaas The book features “the 100 most influential Hispanics in entertainment from the 20th century,” according to their publicists / People en Español editors. We know we’re certainly influence by José José every single fucking waking moment of our life. Cesar Chavez? José Marti? Julia Alvarez? Wifredo Lam? No, sorry. Don’t know ‘em.
Check out some people who influence someone, after the jump:
Roberto Gomez Bolaños
Inspired at least one Simpson’s character.
Gloria Estefan
Inspired us to totally want a mansion on Star Island.
Ricardo Montalban
Inspired enormously inappropriate thoughts just now.
Selena
Inspired the altar in the corner of our bedroom.
Maria Felix
Just inspired us to Netflix some of her movies. And purchase a fascinator.
Celia Cruz
Inspired some of the most terrible choreographed quinces routines, sadly. And genuine tears when she passed. And maybe an airbrushed T-shirt in her likeness. Don’t you judge us.

Are you saying that they didn’t include Cesar Chavez, Jose Marti, and Julia Alvarez?! They have no credibility if that’s so.
