Street Artist “Rodrigo Level” Makes Brazil A Little Weirder, Prettier
17 October 2008, 2:15 PM. By Carlos Posas
If you happen to find yourself in Itajubá, Brazil, keep your eyes peeled for the work of Rodrigo Level- obese horses, shifty-eyed birds and unicorn men are all clues he’s been there. The São Paulo native leaves his work on walls around Itajubá, recording the process for his flickr account, and he also does some work on conventional, non vandalizing mediums like paper. We love him for many reasons, not only for his trippy colors and heavily stylized dream animals, but also because his work looks a lot like what we used to doodle during class (except, you know, imbued with talent.) But by far the best part is how he incorporates his work into public spaces, ’cause we always need more beauty in the world.
Rodrigo’s a pretty mysterious cat, as his only bio reads:
“I am this space and these curves, these lines and forms…” Now you wanna see a picture of him, don’t you! Well we have just that, plus more of his fantastic street art:
The artist, predictably pensive:
The horse appears to be drooling the year “1983″…naturally:
Bird-bull! Sworn enemy of the Liger:
Door lurker, and leaves. This is one of our favorites:

Specifically designed to freak the shit out of stoned kids:
