Former NASA astronaut Franklin Chang got so sick of drinking fucking unacceptable microwaved space coffee that he asked students at the Technological Institute of Costa Rica to come up with a way to brew coffee that didn’t offend him completely. Two engineering students, Daniel Rozen and Josue Solano, came up with a “space infuser.” Explains Rozen:

“We turn on the switch. The machine will heat the water to 90 degrees centigrade, the ideal temperature for a cup of coffee.

“Once the water reaches that temperature, we direct the water which is found in the heating chamber towards where the container is found, resulting in a delicious cup of coffee.”

Now work on a way of making literal moonshine in a space tub. Video of machines and things, after the jump:

when astronauts poo in space, where does it go? does it just float away? what if it hits a baby alien in the face? that is rude.

WTF!?!? We have cancer and HIV that need to be dealt with and they are wasting money on finding a way to brew a fresh cup of folgers in space?! Unfuckingbelievable.
