The most popular new dieting trend to hit Japan is the “Morning Banana Diet.” It’s quite simple, really: Wake up. Now eat some bananas and drink water at room temperature. For lunch and dinner, eat anything you want as long as its before 8 pm. And stay away from dessert. Yup, that’s it. Oh, also you’re going to have to throw everything up, like, immediately. Just kidding. (Not kidding.)
Japan is now facing a banana shortage in supermarkets across the country since an opera singer Kumiko Mori announced on a morning talk show that she lost 15 pounds in 6 weeks following the diet.
Probably because she couldn’t stop shitting for like a week:
Professor Masahiko Okada of Niigata University School of Medicine has his doubts about the effectiveness and long-term health benefits of the diet, saying:
The human body has three essential nutrients — carbohydrates, fat and protein —, he says, and “the golden rule is to balance these three nutrients and a daily calorie intake. Once you understand that, you don’t have to be swayed by the fad diet any more, whether it is a konnyaku (alimentary yam paste) or a banana diet.”
Honestly, we’ve never seen a gaggle of young girls so excited for bananas since “Fruit Fuckers IV: Fresh Squeezed.” Not that we watch that sort of thing anymore.

oh i already eat bananas. on the daily. trust.
