Video: Manuel Uribe Married Girlfriend Claudia Solis Yesterday

Ensuring another call from our mother asking why we’re not married is the news that our old friend Manuel Uribe of Monterrey, Mexico finally tied the knot yesterday with his longtime girlfriend Claudia Solis. Way to go, you two! Manuel, who originally weighed 1230 pounds when he first made an international plea for help losing weight, has successfully lost some 560 pounds in order to fulfill his wish to marry his hairdresser girlfriend. Originally, he wanted to lose enough weight to be able to stand at his wedding, but the groom was carried to the Monterrey Lion’s Club in his special, reinforced, four poster bed. It was towed through town on a truck as he smiled and waved to passers by, the international press following every step of the way.

The couple performed the first dance by holding hands and swaying to the music. Of course, the press was all over the menu which had (gasp!) buttered vegetables and wedding cake, but Manuels’ mom swears he didn’t touch the cake except for photographs. Manuel shed a tear as he exclaimed, “I have a wife and will form a new family and live a happy life.” We are kind of verklempt now, so go watch the video below.
