Beyond The Barrio: Korean Woman With Plastic Surgery Addiction Resorts To Injecting Her Face With Cooking Oil
12 November 2008, 5:00 PM. By Carlos Posas
Hang Mioku, a 48-year-old Korean woman, became addicted to plastic surgery after having her first procedure at age 28. She moved to Japan in order to have more work done. When plastic surgeons there refused to do any more work on her, she returned to Korea, completely unrecognizable to her family, who tried to get her into treatment. Eventually, she found a doctor willing to work on her — who also gave her syringes and silicone to self-inject. When she ran out of silicone, she used cooking oil, Much to the delight/horror of local children:
Her face became so large compared to her small body that local children called her “standing fan.”
After appearing on Korean TV, viewers sent donations so she could have surgery to reduce the size of her face. The first of several operations removed 60g of oil from her face and 200g from her neck.
Con Mazola, no estás sola.
Her face has been left scarred and disfigured, and Ms Hang said she would like her old looks back.
But, how odd! For frequent and sundry plastic surgery procedures usually make a person look positively purrfect. If you have this problem, please, please take this story as a warning and get help. Please? Promise?

Why???
Do koreans not know about the social consequences of oily skin? Proactiv Ultra doesn’t exist yet lady. umm, 여보세요!
“Con Mazola, no estás sola.”
i almost pissed my pants with that!
It is not that unusual to want to look like Shrek and if you have the means to make your animated desires come true, then who are we to judge! Although, this procedure shot this woman’s cholesterol through the roof, so next time I would recommend choosing “I can’t believe it is not butter” as the filler of choice!
When I was little I watched this kids show called Pinwheel. There were two characters on that show, Aurelia and Luigi, that used to scare the crap out me. And that pic on right reminded me of them. Eeeekkkk!!
Guess cooking oil is better than heroin.. am I right?
