Our old, San Antonio, rockera friends Girl In A Coma are back with a new video for our personal favorite song off their Before I’m Gone album, “Their Cell.” The video was shot by Tejano turned Angeleno Jim Mendiola and takes place at the same jail cell (get it? get it?) in Gonzales, Texas where famed, accidental outlaw Gregorio Cortez was held. If you don’t know who that is, please give yourself a swirly then read this. And this.
The video features the girlzzz (Phanie, Jenn & Nina) and friends running around the jail with a ghost handbook while bassist Jenn wears a sheet on her head, presumably reenacting a scene from Scooby Doo. Then a real/pretend ghost follows Nina around! And the end features a very cool depiction of Miss Nina by California artist Shizu Saldamando who seriously rocks in her own right. (Buy us some of her art for Xmas, please.) Check out the video below and rock out with your Glock out as we’re sure Gregorio’s ghost was doing the day they shot it.
