Puppies For Sasha, Malia, You And Guanabee
5 November 2008, 2:50 PM. By Carlos Posas
So, not to be a total downer, but today is kind of sucky: Prop 8 passed, which means the government still sees some of our best friends as being subhuman for reasons other than because they hang out with us voluntarily, the weather in New York today is all gross and overcast and some of us have diarrhea. There is only one remedy, in the short term, to sort out all this negativity:
Puppies. Specifically, six puppies. Take a peek at this live stream of six Shiba Inu puppies all snuggled up and being plump.
Barack Obama knows what’s up and is intent on keeping his promise of getting a First Puppy to daughters Sasha and Malia. Said Obama:
“I love you both so much, and you have earned the new puppy that’s coming with us to the White House.”
Whoa, what is this weird and unpleasant thumping going on in our chest-hole? Odd. Do you think they’ll ever invite Trig and Piper to play with their new puppy? Or what about Ralph Nader? He could use some puppies.
The puppies in the video are as follows:
Girls:
- Autumn (Purple collar)
- Ayumi (Yellow collar)
- Amaya (Red collar)
Boys:
- Aki (Green collar)
- Akoni (Black collar)
- Ando (Blue collar)
Ando is our favorite because that’s our nickname for our little brother, who is kind of like a puppy. And, when we’re all done looking at pups, maybe we can do something about that whole Prop 8 predicament, yes?:
*************SPECIAL BULLETIN*************
Proposition 8 Protest Rally & Street Closures
Wednesday, November 5th
As deeply disappointed as we all are that California voters passed Proposition 8, we must not allow that disappointment to linger. This vote is a temporary defeat in the long march toward equal rights for all citizens in America.
Please join me for a protest rally tonight at 7 pm on San Vicente Blvd between West Hollywood Park and the Pacific Design Center (647 N. San Vicente Blvd. West Hollywood CA 90069) as we move forward towards restoring equality for all in California.
San Vicente Blvd, between Santa Monica Blvd and Melrose Avenue will be closed tonight starting at 6 pm. San Vicente south-bound traffic will be directed to make left or right at Santa Monica Blvd. Signs have already been posted to help divert traffic.
For more information about tonight’s rally, please contact (323) 848-6460.
Just putting that out there, West Coast Guanabees…

it passed, fundies. but let me tell you this: if at first you don’t succeed, try and try again.
just like all your failed _straight_marriages you so lovingly sanctify.
Can you imagine the delicious scandal if the Obama family were to get a pit bull?
i still cannot believe prop 8 passed… I guess cali isn’t as liberal as everyone thinks it is! too bad i dont live in socal.
Animo Alex.
To All:
Voters over the age of 65 generally supported Prop 8, while voters under 30 voted against it.
Whites narrowly voted No on 8, while latinos, blacks, and asians, generally supported Prop 8.
Please come to the rally if you can but please continue to or begin conversations about equality for all with your families and friends.
don’t forget us floridians, amendment 2 passed here as well, where the hell is our protest rally!?
@la roncha @el smrtmnky: We just continue the fight my friends.
@Latin_Princess: That would be hilarious.
I’m over the failure to defeat prop 8. I’ve covered my pain with food. I had a big lunch and I plan on binging (spelling?) all night.
@Guanabee:”puppies all snuggled up and being plump.” - That’s probably due to worms.
AYYYYYY these puppies are so cute!!
@Fredo: I’m ready to riot when you’re ready.
@denise: I’m ready now but I wont wear the daisy dukes, it’s like 70 outside here and that is too chilly for me to be wearing dukes to go rioting and looting in.
anyone know of any protest rallies going on in the bay area?
@ Marcos:
I was floored to hear that only 38% of Florida’s voters opposed Amendment 2, while 62% supported the ban on marriage. The margin was much closer out here (52% in favor and 48% against). About 3 weeks ago No on Prop 8 knew we were trailing about 3 points. All ballot measure restricting the rights of gays and lesbians to either marry or adopt children were approved. But none with such a dramatic margin as Florida’s. Why? What happened down there?
I wish I were in LA today to go rally in WeHo.
On another note….wow, that yellow puppy is totally being a bitch right now. Calm down, Ayumi! Violence is not the answer.
@ Fredo: dang, it’s cold over there. alright. i guess we can go sensible. i’ll bring the wine.
I was kinda shocked to find that 70% of African-Americans voted to ban same-sex marriage…and the irony of the large black numbers coming out to vote in the first place helped elect Obama hasn’t escaped me. But it does seem that gay civil rights make progress a few years after black civil rights. So our new President is a good step in a pro-festive direction…and maybe he can ultimately convince a certain demographic to get off their DL and love their gayness.
I’m not holding my breath that Obama will ban Mormons anytime soon (they, after all, were behind this whole thing). But I’m taking a stand RIGHT NOW against Mormon marriage. And suggesting that the Sundance Film Festival be moved out of Utah. And I’m throwing away my purple socks. (Was that too obscure a Donny and Marie reference?)
@ callejera
basically blacks, hispanics and the rednecks out in the woods all come out against us homoes… as well as the $$ for community college amendment AND property rights for aliens? WTF florida?
