Rachel Maddow, MSNBC political commentator and swoonworthy pinko-commie, (She is from something called Castro Valley, after all. A fact we learned while not Wiki-ing information in the midst of a crush.), is concerned with the reinstitution of the poll tax... Well, in a way. See, she explains that the long lines at polling places -- some of which resulted in eight hour waits in parts of Florida and Georgia -- charge voters with large chunks of time away from work - something which not all of us can comfortably or realistically afford to do. Joe the Plumber, to be certain, would be unable to conceivably carve a sufficient length of time from his long day of talking, plumbering and Not Being Named Joe in order to cast his vote.
After the jump, Rachel lets us know that, while waiting sucks and takes time and money, it's our duty as Americans to tough it out - and then act to do something about it:
Somewhere a baby eagle is crying softly, superimposed over a moving image of gently-blowing fields of grain. Make sure, voters, that you know your local voting place and that you understand the laws on voting in your state:
