We’re Leaving Our Liberal Boyfriend For Someone We’ve Met On The Atlasphere
20 November 2008, 1:10 PM. By Daniel Mauser
We figure it’s about time we stop living for other people and start living for us. As such, we’ve decided to leave our liberal, bleeding heart boyfriend for someone with a greater appreciation for values like hard work, independence, integrity and money. People like those on “The Atlasphere” - a networking and dating site created for those among us who are really into the works and ideas of Ayn Rand:
The Atlasphere was created to fill this gap: the need for a place where admirers of Ayn Rand’s novels from around the world can meet easily and affordably — 365 days a year — to network, find shared interests, and perhaps, through our online dating service, even fall in love.
… with someone who will shout “Civilization is the progress toward a society of privacy. The savage’s whole existence is public, ruled by the laws of his tribe. Civilization is the process of setting man free from men!” in bed? Yes?!
The site’s dating service includes men and women, mostly in their 20s and 30s, of various sexual orientations, albeit mostly heterosexual, from around the globe. Take, for example, “GreekGraniteGod,” a 32-year-old female from Philly who is seeking either a man or a woman with whom to read aloud from The Romantic Manifesto on a plush bearskin rug before a roaring fire. Or “Psychologyofapretzel” - a man of 22 from San Francisco who seeks a nice lady with whom to discuss Objectivism over the disemboweled corpses of Liberals and Neo-Conservatives alike. Can their be such a thing as “rape by engraved invitation?” Do let’s discuss this over the charred remnants of Whittaker Chambers’ review of Atlas Shrugged. Baby.
