Actor Jeremy Piven dropped out of his role in the play “Speed the Plow” due to “mercury poisoning” from bad sushi. His co-stars, Raul Esparza and Elizabeth Moss, apparently couldn’t be more thrilled about it. Esparza, who is not exactly known for being shy (during his run in “Taboo,” an upsetting word from producer Rosie O’Donnell prompted the actor to storm offstage mid-performance and went home), had this so say, according to a source:

“’He said, I’m sure you’ve read the headlines about the silliness in our show.’ Then he said, Today was the first time I really enjoyed playing this show.’ I hope you weren’t expecting a big TV star.” It was pretty emotional.”

Haha, ouch.

Rumors have been floating around that Piven may have bluffed his illness in an effort of getting out of the play.

Maybe stick to California rolls, K-Piv.
