Padres (that’s, apparently, a team of some sort) outfielder Brian Giles is being sued by his ex-girlfriend, a woman named Cheri Olvera, for $10 million. Olvera alleges, among other things, that Giles beat her so hard during her pregnancy that he induced a miscarriage.

Olvera and Giles had lived together since 2002 in what she describes as a “marriage-like relationship” before becoming engaged in 2005. The two never got married, however, because of Giles’ violent tendencies. Nonetheless, the couple remained together until this year. The couple also, according to Olvera, created a contract that maintained if their relationship ended due to “death, separation or otherwise,” Giles’ property would be divided “to her benefit.” We would enter into such a contract with our boyfriend right now if we didn’t already like our own stuff better.

Olvera claims Giles did not keep up with this part of the agreement because he failed to “secure her financially according to the standard of living they shared and failed to divide his assets” after the two broke up.

Giles has been advised by his agent not to comment.

We’re not sure what to think about this except to advise that, if you’re in an abusive relationship, get out. Seek out friends or family members who will give you a place to stay, if need be, and leave. And maybe try to avoid getting into financial agreements that make you look a little ridiculous.

What a loser O.J. Giles is….he probably grew up watching his daddy beat on his mommy.

    Like father, like son.

Another classic overrated, overpaid player from “America’s Favorite Pastime” who likes to hit women but can’t hit a baseball when it counts.

Hope the new Padre owner(s) sends this turd down the road….
