John Brady Arrested For Prank Calling A Woman Into Giving Herself A Rectal Exam

Don’t you hate it when someone calls you up, convinces you to give yourself a rectal exam and then turns out not to be a doctor? Fortunately the law is doing something about it. Police officers on Staten Island in New York have arrested John Brady–a 49 year-old construction worker from the borough’s Oakwood community–who called random numbers out of the phone book in January of 2007 and posed as a medical professional asking people about their digestive system until he found one 34 year-old woman fool enough to go through with a rectal self-exam at his request. “After the phone call, though, the woman realized Brady ‘did not represent a medical establishment,’ court papers allege.” HA! We love this job.
Brady was also arrested in September in connection with two other telephone calls, but it’s not clear whether they included rectal exams, too. (Ha! Sorry. Ha!) Tuesday he was charged with second-degree aggravated harassment. If convicted, he could face up to a year in jail where he’ll have the opportunity to experience many rectal exams up close and personal.
