Matthew McConaughey Was Rescued By An Old Mexican Woman
22 December 2008, 2:15 PM. By Alex Alvarez
While on a (shirt optional) road trip down California, Matthew McConaughey was hit by some unforeseen car troubles. And who should come to his rescue but a Mexican viejita with a truck? Recalls Matthew, while playing bongos:
“We broke down in the middle of the desert while on that trip, in a place where we hadn’t seen nor heard another human for three days,” he revealed on his blog.”
“I had to jog down a dirt road for a couple of hours in hope of finding a trace of anyone.”
“Well, I finally did, and her name was Matty, an 82-year-old Mexican woman who loaned me her 1981 Isuzu truck with 263,000 miles on it. That truck got us to a place where we could get the gear to fix my truck and get back on the road.”
Aw, Matt and Matty! It’s a veritable Christmas miracle, y’all! Matthew also reminisced about nearly dying while celebrating his 39th birthday last month. His near death experience? Being very nearly butted off the edge of the Grand Canyon by a ram.
Aaaand this is why we prefer to remain indoors, away from bongos and rams.
