Niurka Marcos Gives Interviews In Jacuzzis, Is Awesome
17 December 2008, 1:20 PM. By Alex Alvarez
Niurka, that most glamorous of creatures, has her own television shows that airs Wednesday nights on Azteca America. The program, creatively entitled “El show de Niurka,” features comedy, music and guest interviews which the lovely and vivacious Cuban dancer conducts in a Jacuzzi.
But beyond offering a bit of campy fun, Marcos wants to use her show — and her upcoming book, Soy — to highlight mainstream attitudes concerning women and sexuality:
“I dedicate time to talking about women and the double-standard that seeks to moralize or manipulate women’s sexuality and allow her to be used as an object.”
Query: Is it wise to name a book Soy? We’re inclined to believe it would be confused with a book on vegan cooking.
But enough about that. Niurka reveals that she spends about $250,000 on her show’s wardrobe. Which is fabulous and a bit mysterious, given Niurka usually turns up wearing little more than a pasty and a hat purchased on sale at Claire’s:
Have you ever seen Niurka’s show? Do you plan on buying her new book? Do you know where we can buy star-shaped glittery pasties?

I’ll buy her book only if it has tons of pictures of her. I never get tired of her!
