Rachael Ray Targets Latino Audience With Viva Daisy! - A New Cooking Show Hosted By Daisy Martínez

Rachael Ray, that hyper cooking lady who started out normal but whose genes mutated once she came into contact with Oprah, is expanding her cooking empire with the creation of Viva Daisy!, a new cooking show hosted by Daisy Martínez of PBS’ Daisy Cooks! Creative titles. Ray currently has a production company with her husband John Cusimano called Watch Entertainment (not quite as subtle as subliminal messaging) in addition to having her own syndicated talk show, three shows on Food Network, and her own magazine.
Basically, Daisy Martínez is to Rachael Ray what Rachael Ray was to Oprah Winfrey. It’s a never-ending cycle. One day Daisy will be unveiling a cooking show starring someone’s whose first name will be in the title followed by an exclamation mark. And we’ll probably write about it.
Ray says of Martínez:
“What I love about Daisy is her accessibility factor; if you don’t have a Latin-American heritage, it can be very foreign to an American audience. I think she makes it fun and easy.”
Daisy is a Brooklyn-born Puerto-Rican and a former model. Much more importantly, she was an extra in both Carlito’s Way and Scent of a Woman.
Her new show will premiere January 10th at 9:30am on Food Network. Although Rachael Ray will not be appearing on the show, don’t think you won’t be seeing more of her face in the future. Her husband states that their production company is working on developing projects that are “completely unrelated to anything that you would expect from .” So, like a cockroach, expect to see her everywhere, in any weather, and on everything. Even in men’s magazines:

hey maybe it’ll be my brother (i doubt it but whateves) and the title will be just his name with the exclamation point… Sergio!
not just because it’s my brother but his food is the bomb!
Daisy has had a cooking show on PBS for a long time now (at least in Boston). Her recipes are good, if slightly whitewashed. But she is most definitely less annoying and a much better cook than Pro-Palestinian Terrorist Rachael. Although that’s not saying much.
