The “Real” Cleopatra’s Multi-Ethnic Hotness Revealed In New 3-D Composite Image
15 December 2008, 6:00 PM. By Camilla Rowan
British researcher Sally Ann Ashton thinks she has finally found the true face of Cleopatra- the result of a whole year’s work carefully compiling ancient depictions of the famous Egyptian queen. Not surprisingly, the computer-generated results look nothing like Elizabeth Taylor. Ashton used images of the queen, like the one found on a 2000 year old Egyptian ring, along with her knowledge of Cleopatra’s history to try and produce the most complete version of what Cleopatra probably looked like. Cleopatra’s family was originally from Greece but had lived in Egypt for 300 years by the time she was born, so it would be highly likely that she would be of mixed descent. So wait, why do we care what she looked like, again? Cleopatra’s seductive powers were supposedly unparalleled in her time, but her looks are actually rarely mentioned. Of course we can’t possibly imagine separating sex appeal from physical perfection nowadays…But Ashton’s version of Cleopatra wouldn’t have had trouble getting noticed, either way. Ashton’s research will be used in a 5-part documentary on the famous Egyptian queen, playing in the UK.

wow she had cornrows.
@la roncha: Weave had not been invented yet. I know it’s crazy, they were advanced enough to use cotton as a diaphram but cound’nt figure out how to attach horse hair to their head. Crazy.
@Fredo: The horsehair would have gotten in the way of the cones of scented fat.
