Video: Playboy Mexico Helps Christmas Come Early With Maria Florencia Onori Posing As The Virgin Mary. Or Just Mary.

The December issue of Playboy magazine’s Mexican edition is outraging certain Catholics by depicting model María Florencia Onori draped in a veil before a stained glass window, evoking the image of the Virgin Mary. That is, if the Virgin Mary was Photoshopped, fair-skinned, blue-eyed and didn’t own proper clothing. The issue has sold over 80,000 copies, a Christmas miracle for the struggling Playboy enterprise. You can check out a video on Machochip of her cavorting about while hair keeps getting stuck in her lipgloss. It’s practically a religious experience.

While we tend to keep our outrage at a perpetual low simmer, we can only muster up enough anger to ask why she isn’t specifically portraying La Virgen de Guadalupe. Way to be culturally insensitive, Playboy.

I don’t see why any Catholics should complain. If anything, this might actually increase church attendance, while decreasing the available space in my pants.

I’m compelled to go to church NOW.
It’s refreshing to see that God had very good taste. Okay, okay…I can’t dismiss evolution, but if I were to believe that ‘Eve’ was created from a rib, and so forth, it’s obvious only a genious could have designed such an attractive being with such beautiful curves.
Don’t believe me? Think about it–Michael Angelo (my favorite sculpturer), Bennini, and other could only COPY such great ‘body’ of work.

Perhaps this will prove to be a positive–igniting the libido and desire to be with women amongst priests while simultaneously decreasing child abuse.

I do not normally get involve online with comments, but this is something that needs to be addressed, and ask to be removed from the stands. This is a disgrace to anyone whom is spiritual in nature. Why oh why are we letting our moral standards get so low, and degrading that we can just expose it to the world. We are living in times now that our children can go online, and see this and thinks it’s normal. We must get better, and set better standards for our our future generations. Other wise you may not enjoy what you(we) create in our future children.
It’s interesting that some see a young semi naked girl named Mary, and their first thought is about the Virgin Mary. Seems to have a great deal of underlying psychological aspects to that. See… when I see a semi nude woman… my first thought isn’t virgin anything.

I am so upset to see how we have changed as a society and culture. We once had respect for the holy now we use it to make a buck. I hope this young woman never regrets such an act. If there is a God she is in for it!!!
