New York City Baker Ted Kefalinos Creates “Drunken Negro Face” Cookies

A New York City baker named Ted Kefalinos decided to commemorate Barack Obama’s election by whipping up a batch of “Drunken Negro Face” cookies. They kind look more like “Your Store Is Probs Going To Go Out Of Business Now That This Is All Over The Mothereffing News” cookies, but what do we know.
The baker, who runs the Lafayette Bakery in Manhattan, has also been accused of comparing President Obama to President Lincoln, because, like Lincoln, Obama will “get his.” We don’t think he’s referring to a glass of milk. And, at least according to one man, the baker has a bit of a history of being less than racially sensitive. The best part for us, of course, is his explanation that he cannot possibly be racist because his brother-in-law is Cuban.

New York-based site Gothamist spoke to Kefalinos who… seems to really not have a good handle on this whole “racism” thing:
We just spoke with Kefalinos on the phone and he remains utterly oblivious, telling us, “This whole thing was blown out of proportion.” He says he’s sold out of the “Drunken Negro Cakes” and doesn’t plan to make anymore, despite the fact that many customers have been requesting them (he claims). When asked whether he understands that most African-Americans find the word “negro” offensive, Kefalinos explains, “It’s a French word. It comes from the French.”
Negro. French? K.
(Hey, guys? Does this mean we can talk about Kefalinos in Spanish behind his back, or are we still pretending never to do that?)

This is just…hard to even take in all at once the insanity and willful ignorance is so overwhelming.

Y’know, the reason this is racist is because it’s so non-inclusive. What if I don’t happen to be a “Negro”? Why aren’t any of the minorities I pertain to being given a tribute? Where are the “Drunken Maricón (Gives Good) Head” cookies?
The real problem is that no one sees the facts. Bush has managed to single handedly fuck up everyones lives. This whole economical thing sees no colors- it has affected all people- poor to rich, black, white and brown. Bush is a white man and Obama is black and thats what everyone is focusing on. Give the man a chance. We allowed Bush to continously fuck us with no vaseline consecutively over the last eight years., The world needs to except the fact that “IT’S A NEW DAY!!!!!”.

however, we are where we are in the economy due to democrat president clinton and his secy treasury rubin and fed greenspan pumping out money and causing a housing bubble. Some republicans tried to stop fannie and freddie but failed. The dems in congress made the clinto mess larger and like all bubbles the housing bubble broke. Also credit of all kinds have broken down. Bush was guilty of not stopping it for the last year or two but he let it run so he could get his iraq money. Dems obama, barney frank and dodd were paid by fannie and freddie, openly to push their agenda. not as much fun as F%^king bush but dats the facts.
