Krispy Kreme Enrages Pro-Lifers With “Freedom Of Choice” Donuts

donut Krispy Kreme is giving away a free donut to every customer tomorrow, in honor of Obama’s inauguration and to celebrate “freedom of choice.” Naturally this is liberal-speak for “ABORTION DONUT,” so the American Life League is now protesting Krispy Kreme and condemning their free donut day. How cheery.

Here’s the actual press release from Krispy Kreme:

Krispy Kreme Doughnuts, Inc. is honoring American’s sense of pride and freedom of choice on Inauguration Day, by offering a free doughnut of choice to every customer on this historic day, Jan. 20. By doing so, participating Krispy Kreme stores nationwide are making an oath to tasty goodies — just another reminder of how oh-so-sweet “free” can be.

Unless we see placental lining used as donut filling, we’d be hesitant to call this a pro-abortion campaign by Krispy Kreme. The American Life League seems to have a knee-jerk reaction to the word “choice,” since they released a statement condemning both Krispy Kreme’s decision and Obama’s abortion stance;

President-elect Barack Obama promises to be the most virulently pro-abortion president in history. Millions more children will be endangered by his radical abortion agenda. Celebrating his inauguration with ‘Freedom of Choice’ doughnuts - only two days before the anniversary of the Supreme Court decision to decriminalize abortion - is not only extremely tacky, it’s disrespectful and insensitive and makes a mockery of a national tragedy.

Really guys? Equating free donuts celebrating “choice” with pro-choice politics? Somehow we doubt that a franchise donut establishment would feel the need to get all political-especially when they’re conveying their message with corny jokes about freedom being sweet and calling their product a “favorite American treat.” Fast food chains trying to appeal to a broad audience with folksy, patriotic slogans don’t traditionally work the abortion angle- studies have shown it doesn’t help donut sales, for some reason.

Guess again, American Life League- and everyone else, enjoy your free donut and try not to kill any babies.

I cannot stand the term pro-abortion. UGH. Like people are actively out there cheerleading abortions.
The doughnut would have been better had it been sprinked with fetus-shaped sprinkles….and a rasperry jelly filling.

I prefer to use the term ‘killing a life’. Abortions are wrong on so many levels. If you dont want a child then keep your legs shut other wise deal with what happens when you dont. People act like its a form of birth control and you ARE killing a baby… regardless if its born yet or not.

    • Close your legs? Really? That’s all you got?

Come on now, homey. Life is complicated, and so are a lot of the decisions we make. If you really wanted to prevent abortion, you should be advocating easier access to contraception and teaching comprehensive sex education in our public schools. So, unless you have a real solution to the issue, don’t talk about it. Just shhh. Shush child.

“deal with what happens” …. its a CHILD …. not a case of the flu. yeah, thats an awesome idea. then we can have more deadbeat parents not taking care of their kids.

Bahahaha!!! this provided mt daily dose of comic relief. I kind of hope anti-abortion activists start jumping on everything with the word choice in it. “your CHOICE of side salad”, “you CHOICE of wood finish”, “your CHOICE of free gift”. How magical would that be?

sounds like PETA and the American League should join forces so they can attack everyone and everything on a whim. Then, regardless of their relevency they can get some attention!

*Now* I know what to tell the rest of my rape survivor group!

I even think abortion is wrong, but that’s some ignorant shit, there.

I personally would buy as many boxes of pro choice donuts as I could afford! Support peoples right to safe abortions!
-to “killing a life’..toy know sometimes the outcome of an unwanted pregnancy is suicide or a back alley abortion. You want your daughter getting one ?

I’m hoping I can get one of these if I rush out right now and storm my local Krispy Kreme.
I would imagine inspiring a boycott by such insipid non-thinkers would make anyone at Krispy Kreme proud.
Incidentally, in most cases when we discuss abortion, we’re talking about the future prospects of a glob of cells. You might as well start a campaign to save the mold in the bottom of the toilet. By scrubbing it out, you’re denying it the right to evolve!
    Oh, wait.
Well, you’re denying it the right to be zapped by Jesus and turn into a new, more-maigcaler species of human, then.
    Happy Inauguration Day!!

While I am not a proponent of abortion, and it is not a choice I would ever make, I do not want to give the government the right to dictate what I can, or cannot, do with my body. The majority of people who are “pro-choice” are such to prevent dangerous illegal abortions which cost lives, as well as keeping a certain amount of separation from the government. It can be a very “slippery slope” when we begin allowing the government into such personal areas of our lives. Just because one is pro-choice does not mean they are pro-abortion.

  11. I bought the office some abortion donuts today. We ate them while we watched the inauguration. Then I waved at the protesters outside.

    It was a good day.

Today sucked ass. Obama will be a nightmare on so many levels–the abortion issue being only one.

Look. If you say you’re pro-choice, at least be intellectually honest about what you are doing. You are not “terminating a pregnancy” or flushing the “product of conception”…you are killing a child. At least have the fucking balls to own up to it.

    God liberals suck.

I can not agree with you more. People on here talk about rape (which is totally different and they have a things to prevent the preganacy from ever happening, oh and as for my daughter I will raise her right, like my mother did for me, and abortion will never even be a thought in her mind) I do not go out and protest it, however I am highly against it. You are 100% right, its not “termination a pregnancy” its killing a child. A child that could be the person who has a cure for cancer. And as for people not wanting to get pregnant and it happening there are so many other options for that baby other than killing it. You cant afford it? There are 1000 of people that would kill to have a baby and that would pay ALL of your bills so they can have your child that you do not want. It will mess up your body? Who cares? I’ve had 2 children and I look 100% like I did before I got pregnant. For every reason there is to get an abortion there is a solution to it. People now use it as a form of birth control and its not right, I know someone who never uses a condom and gets pregnant and just goes oh well ill spend the 200 and go out and get an abortion.. now shes had 6 of them.

One day you WILL have to answer for the stuff you have done bad in your life, and you WILL have to explain it, and I can say, killing your child is NOT going to look good on you.

Very well said. We will all have to answer for what we have done in this life. This “freedom of choice” act Obama will shove upon Catholic hospitals and other organizations that deplore the sick act of abortion at all stages will be squarely on his head.

In the end, what is good will be called evil and what is evil will be called good….

You are entitled to your opinion but I disagree with you 100%, first off it is not up to us to judge what a person wants to do with their body…if you don’t agree with it fine, so be it, close your eyes or look the other way but once the gov. gets involved that closely with people’s lives, there will be no stopping them, people will come up with all sorts of reasons and laws preventing people from doing this and that to their own bodies…you can not prevent a person from doing as they please to their God-given body, in the end God decides if it is right or wrong and do not tell me about the Catholic church when you have priests raping children (not talking about every priest but the ones who do) it is your right to believe what you want to believe but in the end I do not want a gov. involved with telling me what I can and can not do with my body, I am not for abortions but I am not gonna tell someone else they can’t have theirs mainly b/c I don’t know their situration, not everyone gets abortions b/c they want to, some women have to due to medical reasons, then you have those women who were raped, the list goes on, not every women has her legs open and there is no way to distinguish those women from women who sleep around

“Freedom of choice” does not refer to the choice as to whether to have a baby or not. It refers to the freedom to choose our leaders. It has nothing to do with abortion; your post is completely misdirected.

The bottom line is that the reason that abortions are legal is because the majority of the population believes that they should be. It’s called democracy people.

Man, conservatives are absolutely hypocritical. They are anti-choice because it’s “killing a child” but they are ok with the death penalty. So, basically the government can decide when someone should die but a woman can’t make a decision about a “death” occurring within her own body? Ok…

It comes down to, like some commenters have said, the government’s role in individual human lives. If the church says abortion is wrong, that’s entirely irrelevant to legislative and judicial decisions–hello, separation of church and state anyone? It’s the same with the issue of gay marriage–what the Bible says about is entirely irrelevant, it is a decision of whether government, supposedly separated from religion, should legally recognize the marital union of two members of the same sex.

And aren’t conservatives supposed to be the ones in favor of limited government involvement anyway? Dumb asses…

“there are 1000s of people who would kill to have a baby”

There are tens of thousands of orphans and foster children in america who would kill to have a family. If you’re out protesting abortion and you don’t have any adopted or foster children, you are only fooling yourself. If all the active “pro-life” protestors adopted one child in the US, late-term abortion would be so rare as to be statistically irrelevant, because the demand for otherwise “unwanted” children would be huge. I bet you won’t find a lot of pro-life demonstrators out there who have adopted 8-year-old black children, despite the huge need.
