Laura Zúñiga Forced To Give Up Pageant Crown, Vivian Noronha Is Now “Miss Hispanoamerica”

A month since her arrest on suspicion of drug smuggling after “going shopping” with members of a drug cartel in trucks full of weapons, Mexican beauty queen, “Miss Hispanoamerica” and “Miss Sinaloa 2008″ Laura Zúñiga has been stripped of her crown and title. The new Miss Hispanoamerica is 24-year-old Vivian Noronha of Brazil, pictured with Zúñiga at left.

A spokesperson for the Miss Hispanoamerica pageant said Zúñiga was relieved of her crown and title after failing to comply with her duties. Those duties include, apparently, not participating in drug rings. We suppose its also difficult to complete the requisite appearances and charity work required when one is behind bars.

Moss Noronha, meanwhile, is said to be very happy with her new title, but was reportedly “saddened” that it came at such a cost. Oh, please. Like Zúñiga’s boyfriend didn’t have something to do with her win and the title wasn’t rightfully Noronha’s this whole damn time. Wear your crown, Viv, and don’t shed a single tear for Laurita.
