Alex Rodriguez’s Drug-Pushing Cousin Is Yuri Sucart

Yuri Sucart’s obviously close and supportive wife, Carmen, has confirmed that her husband is the cousin to whom Alex Rodriguez was referring during his recent press conference.

Rodriguez claimed his cousin was the first to provide him with a performance-enhancing drug called bole, or boli, while the two were in the Dominican Republic.

Reporters who arrived at the Sucart home in Miami knocked on the door to no response. When they called the home, a woman who identified herself as Yuri’s wife picked up and confirmed that it was indeed her husband to whom A-Rod was referring. And then she got all pissed: “I told you my husband has nothing to say. What A-Rod said at the press conference is what happened and that is all. And if you want to talk to my husband, why don’t you talk to his lawyer?”

Ay, because you made it easy for them to talk to you, CHISMOSA. She then declined to provide the name of Yuri’s lawyer.

Yuri has been by Alex’s side throughout his career and has been described as being his cousin’s “friend” and “protector.” A friend of Alex’s attempted to downplay Yuri’s role in providing drugs, saying:

Yuri was a mule, not a guy who would initiate anything.He did what Alex told him to. He was only looking out for Alex. He is not a guy who would take the initiative to go out and buy drugs. Alex said during the press conference that his cousin just did what was asked — that is perfect for Yuri’s MO. He is a person who would be with him forever, a loyal guy without a bad bone in his body.

So… he was asked to buy drugs? That’s slightly different (but not entirely) from offering your cousin a drug as a suggestion, as Alex seemed to insinuate during the press conference. Alex also made it clar that he intended to take full blame for what he did and would not incriminate his then-unnamed familial supplier in any way. So. Why mention the cousin at all?

A personal trainer who once worked with Sucart says Yuri would constantly attempt to piggyback on his wealthy cousin’s fame, promising friends perks like free tickets and sneakers. He also said Sucart was “stocky” and could stand to lose a few pounds, which just seems unnecessary.
