OBAMA/
Sometimes old people are sad. Like when Etta James, who is legendary and awesome and untouchable, goes and acts unabashedly jealous of a child, i.e. Beyonce, for singing “her” song “At Last” at one of the many inaugural balls we all suffered through last month. “At Last,” was actually written in 1941 by Mack Gordon and Harry Warren for the musical film Orchestra Wives and first performed by Glen Miller. So, like, it’s not technically your song, Etta. Sure you own it, but you don’t actually own it. Dig? We understand your jealousy, but what could possibly be gained by announcing it viciously and publicly at a Seattle concert last week and thereby telling the whole world because no one queefs nowadays without it ending up on YouTube or Twitter or somesuchplace. Amiright? You really laid it on thick, too, Etta. Telling the audience:

You know your president, right? You know, the one with the big ears? He ain’t MY president. He might be YOUR president. But I tell you that woman he has singing for him, singing my song. She’s gonna get her ass whipped.

Really, Etta? You’re going to drag your old turkey neck over to Beyonce’s house and whoop her supple, young ass? Really?

As classic of a song as “At Last” is, when the tenth couple we know chose it as their wedding song, we kind of started to hate it. When the Obama’s chose it to dance to, or rather the producers of Cadillac talked Obama’s people into creating some synergistic magic with it, we basically put it in the do not play pile along with Three Dog Night’s, “Joy To The World,” and “La Macarena.” And now Etta James is debasing herself with this petty tirade? That’s it. This day is over. We’re going to the gym for some toxin releasing juices. Oh and the entire thing is below. It’s some catty shit you don’t want to miss!

Cindy - you shut up & show some respect!

Yes. It IS Etta’s song. Beyonce should have shown some humbleness & let Etta do her thing.

When are you whippersnappers going to learn any respect for your elders. I swear I’m gonna send you to a convent in mexico!

yeah they should of asked Etta do sing the song, just out of respect for her singing it so long. Also Beyonce sang it for a movie not b/c it was her song, she got all hype on it and prob felt like she could just bust when ever.

These guests are morons. If Richie Valens was alive, you think he would be talking this shit about Los Lobos singing “La Bamba” at George Lopez’s innauguration (don’t laugh, I hear he has his sights set on the White House - blue trim and all)? No, because the song wasn’t his before he sang it and it’s not his after he sang it. You think Dolly Parton has her panties in a wad because Whitney Houston sang a equally popular version of “I Will Always Love You”? No, because Dolly has class.

Though, I gotta say At Last was actually a pretty good choice, considering the circumstances and Dr. King’s famous words.
