Chris Brown Has Changed His Facebook Status To “Single.” Ok Then.

Chris Brown is handling the allegations against him with poise, grace and a maturity beyond his years by airing out his grievances through Facebook. The singer changed his status to “Single” and wrote an update saying: “You’ll begin to see her true colors. Believe it!” We’re sure his lawyers are loving this.

Brown is said to be in Las Vegas now, staying in a luxury suite at the Hard Rock Hotel and Casino. A source at the hotel says, “We cannot confirm that Chris is staying with us. However, several of his friends are staying on [the] property.” How would they know who his friends are? 

Speaking of which, his friends’ conversations with the media thusfar have not been exactly helpful in making Chris look at all sympathetic. His friend and personal stylist Michael Barnett told the press that ”Chris is all right. He’s a good kid. He feels very bad that something like this happened. Oh, well, in that case! Another friend said, ”You can tell everybody that Chris really feels bad about the whole situation, about it coming out the way that it happened, the way he went about it, the way she went about it. It’s just a wack situation.” Wack indeed.

Adding to the general wackitude of it all, Chris’ allegedly flirtatious behavior at a pre-Grammys party and recent reports that he and Rihanna began arguing over a text he received from a woman had some speculating that he may have had his eye on British singer Leona Lewis. Her spokespeople were basically like, hi, don’t bring us into this shit. Sources say Rihanna saw Chris talking to Leona at the party, with his hand placed on the small of her back. Mmm hmm. Doesn’t make a lick of difference.

Oddly enough, the only celebrity to have put this whole situation in perspective is scholar / gentleman Kanye West:

I don’t want to speak more into the specifics with that situation, but all I’ll say is it’s just so devastating. I feel like, just as a person, I don’t care how famous she is or even if she just worked at McDonald’s, that should never happen. It should never come to that place.

Brown’s flight into Vegas may impede with the LAPD’s request to get more information from him on what exactly happened the night of the attack. L.A. District Attorney spokeswoman Jane Robison said this case looks like it will take a while are more information is gathered: ”It’s our understanding the LAPD won’t return the case to us this week. Once we get it, we will review it again to determine if there’s a case.”
