Fun Facts From Florida!: Corpse Found In Car Ticketed 7 Times
27 February 2009, 5:30 PM. By Alex Alvarez
A traffic warden in Gainesville, Florida (a mystical place, home to UF and girls named Tammy) ticketed a corpse found in a car seven times.
John Waldo, a 42-year-old engineer, was last seen alive at Gainesville’s Calico Jack’s Oyster Bar on February 11th. Apparently, he had spent most of the time since then sitting upright in the passenger seat of his BMW, which was promptly ticketed on seven different occasions for being parked in the same spot too long.
The traffic warden could not apparently not tell that someone was in the car because Waldo’s windows were tinted illegally dark.
When police were finally called out to investigate, they also found a loaded pistol in the trunk of his car. Which is really kind of par for the course in Florida. Autopsy reports indicate that there was no “obvious cause of death,” and have proved inconclusive, but police say they do not suspect any foul play. Maybe he ate something foul at the oyster club? Maybe it’s ciguatera poisoning? Maybe the thought of Fernando del Rincon running around shirtless was too much for him? The world may never know.
