David Goldman Reunited With Son Who Was Kidnapped By Mother And Taken To Brazil

Hot New Jersey dad David Goldman has been reunited with his 8-year-old son, Sean, after not having seen him for over four years. The boy was taken by his mother to her native Brazil, where she refused to let Goldman see or talk to the boy. She later remarried and, when she died sometime last year, Sean was handed over to his stepfather.
Goldman had been denied custody of his child until U.S. Rep. Christopher Smith increased political pressure last week.
It all started on June 16, 2004, Goldman drove his then-wife, Bruna, Sean, then 4 years old son and Bruna’s parents to Newark Airport so they could go on what was supposed to be a two-week vacation to Bruna’s home country of Brazil. Goldman, who has claimed that he thought his marriage was a happy one, later received a call from Bruna saying she was not planning on returning to the United States, that she was keeping her son and that if Goldman ever wanted to see Sean again, he would have to assign her sole custody.
Goldman went to a court in New Jersey to ask for a custody hearing. The law required Sean to be present at the hearing, but Brazilian courts waited a year to respond to the request and later claimed that, since so much time had passed, it would be best for Sean to remain in Brazil with his mother.
After Bruna’s death, her new husband petitioned Brazilian courts to have Goldman’s name removed from Sean’s birth certificate and have it replaced with his own. Um. This shit is so fishy…
Goldman continually attempted to see his son in Brazil, but was turned away. Once reunited with Sean, Goldman was asked why he’d never come to visit him. Watch as Goldman tearfully describes their reunion. You might want to grab a tissue. And file divorce papers against your sneaky Brazilian wife:

So glad to hear this update. I remember seeing this guy on the Today Show a year or so again and feeling so badly for him.

David Goldman has one son. He has been fighting everyday to get his son released from Brazil and brought home. Comments like this may mislead opinions. Please think before you post something this crass again.

Brazil holds over 60 other children that should have been returned. One 4 yr old child was recently murdered by the people that had custody (the mothers relative) of her,even though her father Mr. Sasha Zanger had won his Hague Convention case to have his children returned.Sound Familiar?
