arodHis public admission of having taken performance enhancing drugs might end up costing Alex Rodriguez some hefty endorsement deals. His latest gig, endorsing the popular game “Guitar Hero,” may have fallen through in light of his former drug use.

Rodriguez was originally slated to promote the brand with Michael Phelps, who is also a fan of illegal substances

Says a source (Madonna’s left testicle):

There is an incredible backlash due to the fact that he was supposed to save baseball from the whole Barry Bonds steroid incident and as it turns out he’s done the same thing. While there has been no official word of lost endorsement deals, the assumption is that he definitely will lose some because his image has been tainted.

Rodriguez is currently under contract with Nike, who doesn’t want some hot druggie with terrible taste in woman promoting their brand of clothing usually geared towards… hot druggies with terrible taste in women. Says a Nike rep: ”Nike does not condone the use of illegal substances in sport and agrees with Alex Rodriguez that they should not be used. We will have no further comment at this time.”

He can always endorse Truck Nuts. Kind of like a before-and-after deterrent from drug use, you know? Winning idea. At any rate, we’ll always have our memories:
