jessica_simpson_coversPoor Cosmo en Español. Here they are thinking we still care about things like sexy sexo or a skinny-albeit-busty Jessica Simpson’s “addiction to kisses.” Fools! Don’t they know its kind of obvious that they’re only mag on the stands using an old photo of a much thinner Jessica?

The magazine’s lack of touch with pop culture is also evident in their decision to run a photo of Jessica that is either old, Photoshopped or posed in such a way as to not reflect her recent weight gain.

Compare the February Cosmo en Español cover to the upcoming inTouch cover for the week of February 16th. Or, for that matter, any other recent magazine on the newsstands: Us Weekly, People, OK! Her face looks much slimmer. But, then again, her cover pose seems to hide her upper arms, and her loose-fitting dress masks most of her much talked-about body. So she just looks like a pretty girl in a terrible, gigantic pillow case. You’d that if they were to alter anything, they’d start with her roots.

So out of touch. We only want to read about sexy deep-fried cheese-stuffed ground bacon burgers and Jessica Simpson addiction to chocolate kisses wrapped in sexy deep-fried cheese-stuffed ground bacon burgers. But, then again, what woman’s magazine isn’t completely out of touch with how women actually look / eat / sound like / want?

Like we’ve said before, we think Jess wears her current size really well and she looks better now than back in her “Daisy Duke” days. During which was was, apparently, totes unhappy. We would be unhappy too if we were eating nothing but egg white omelets and starring in a movie with Johnny Knoxville.

We’ve compiled a gallery of magazine covers - some candid, some very obviously airbrushed - featuring Jessica before and after her recent weight gain. Make sure to take a peek.

  1. Her weight would not matter if she actually had talent, see Aretha Franklin.
