It’s Working!: Julio Osegueda Gets A Job Out Of Barack Obama’s Stimulus Plan

Proving that America really is a place where dreams come true and hope sprouts like so many genital warts, college student Julio Osegueda has the honor of possibly being the first person to directly benefit from President Barack Obama’s economic stimulus plan.

Osegueda, a Communications major at Edison State College, attended Obama’s town hall meeting in Ft. Myers, Florida. When selected to ask the President a question, Osegueda took the opportunity to show off all those communications skills he’d been acquiring, saying: ”It’s such a blessing to see you Mr. President, thank you for taking time out of your day! Oh, gracious God, thank you so much!” Hee!

Rick Sanchez and his entire team at “Sanchez HQ” (Re real. It’s back booth at the Dairy Queen.) really got a kick out of this guy. Watch as Barack Obama uses lots of words to respond to Julio’s frustration over working at the same McDonald’s for four and a half years:

And, it turns out, Julio was actually able to land a job after all this. Hours after the town hall meeting, Julio was contacted by  Class A Fort Myers Miracle baseball team and offered an immediate position. Says Gary Sharp, the company’s promotions director:

 I contacted some people who I knew who were at the event, and said ‘Find this guy, and get his phone number. I gave [Julio] a call, and he was as excited talking to me as he was talking to the President. I offered Julio the chance to do color commentary during our home opener [on April 10], and he was like ‘This is incredible! This is great!’ There was no negotiating.

Congrats, Jules. We’re especially happy because Julio is someone whose really proud of being Latino and has a MySpace page that looks almost exactly like our own. “FrEsH n bLeSsD?” That’s how we usually describe ourselves, too. Here’s his About Me:
