I think “clearly meant to be satirical” is your interpretation and how exactly do you know they KNEW they were being politically offensive? The scenario you drew up is possible, just without substantive evidence, is completely hearsay. Also, the Asian guy’s look does not look like a “WTF you guys are all racist” nor does the position of the subjects in the photo suggest they are trying to make a satirical photograph criticizing the racial politics of America. But hey, that’s just my interpretation, I’m not going to post it like it’s a proven fact, like some people.

Mais non, my sweet. I wrote that racists did it last year, thus setting a trend, and Miley is doing it now, when it’s unfashionable. Two separate groups. Much like how wearing an Iron Maiden shirt doesn’t automatically equate to being a metal head.

1. I think this pic is clearly meant to be satirical. Miley and her friends KNOW they are being potentially offensive, that’s why her asian friend is making a WTF face to highlight that fact. It’s like - let’s all try to look asian and you look all pissed cause we’re being so racist! That is a funny concept despite the potential for quick to be offended bloggers to take it the wrong way.

2. The real reason they even thought of this is because they are all stoned out of their minds and that state frequently leads to one’s eyes being squinty (note that most aren’t even holding their eyes back).

3. You DID insinuate that Miley was racist - “And now she’s been photographed making a “slanty-eyed” pose even though it was all the rage among racists last year.”

Now, now. We didn’t call Miley a racist. We just pointed out that she seems to be making a racist gesture. Is there a difference? An argument can certainly be made either way.

The only thing we’ve accused Miley of being is dumb. We’ve also said she has big, giant veneers.
