Sabrina Pina, a 27-year-old Houston woman, went missing Saturday afternoon while shopping. Now, a body found in a nearby ditch has her family and friends hoping for answers into her disappearance.
Sabrina is the second young woman to have disappeared from her Houston suburb. Susana De Jesus, 37, was kidnapped three weeks ago in the parking lot of a the women’s clothing store where she worked. Authorities have already confirmed that forensic evidence proves the body found in the ditch does not belong to De Jesus.
Pina was last heard from on Saturday afternoon, when she called her husband from Home Depot to ask which garbage disposal she should buy. The disposal remained in the back of Pina’s truck when she went missing. Her family alerted authorities a few hours later, when the usually-punctual young woman was late to a family gathering.
Her parents went to the shopping center, from which she was last heard, and found her truck abandoned in the parking lot. Her shopping purchases were still there, but her purse and cell phone were nowhere to be found.
Pina’s family have already steeled themselves for the worst regarding the still unnamed body found in the ditch.
