Nurses Fired After Posting X-Ray Of Sex Toy Lodged In Rectum To Facebook

Two nurses were fired after they took camera-phone pictures of one patients’ x-rays, which showed his rectum with a sex toy lodged inside it, and then allegedly posted the x-ray pictures to Facebook. In other news, stop posting this shit in public.

The Wisconsin nurses were ratted out by an anonymous tipster from inside the hospital, who must have either been Facebook friends with them or heard the nurses talking about posting the pictures. They took the pictures in the first place when the patient came in to the emergency room and had his lower abdomen x-rayed. One nurse who spoke to investigators later said that she’d never put the picture on the internet, but mysteriously deleted her Facebook profile immediately after her misdeed came to light. Still, both nurses were fired and are under investigation for violating patient rights.

Have we not learned that anything stupid you post on the internet will come to light? After the recent internet-privacy furor when Facebook tried to claim eternal ownership of any content posted to their site, the overwhelmingly negative reaction made the social site rush to change their policy back to the original one. But laws or not, once you put something out there it’s just too easy for a million copies to be made so that, someone, somewhere will forever have that picture of your incriminating moment.
