Soon You’ll Be Hanging Out With Your Cuban Cousins

The House of Representatives will vote today on a bill that will, amongst other things, reduce funding spent to enforce Cuban travel restrictions because, pretty soon, we’re going to be as broke as they are.
The measure is part of a $410 billion budget bill that scales back money alloted for enforcing such laws that many view as outdated. (Last time the UN voted to lift the US trade embargo on Cuba everyone except for the United States, Israel and Palau were in favor–awko!)
While currently you can only visit the island once every three years, Obama is urging Congress to vote yes on this measure which would mean American citizens could visit their relatives in Cuba once a year and spend $170 a day there instead of the current daily limit of $50. We won’t get into the irony of no one having enough money to make the trip anymore, but maybe now you can go hang out with cousin Usnavy and get tips from him about how to live on the cheap.
The bill, which also has to pass the Senate, creates a general travel license for Americans who sell food and medical supplies to Cuba and allows Cuban authorities to pay for US products once they arrive rather than pay up front before they are sent.

Oh and mr. levy says that a mag made him take pics in very poor taste in fact they quoted mr. levy as them making him do it and he regrets it.
