Recession-Proof: Teen Prostitutes And Teen Madams Tatiana Tye And Jazmine Finley

At least two cases of teen prostitution are causing alarm in two very different communities: One story follows a 15-year-old Eastern European prostitute in England, and the other involves two teens accused of overseeing a child prostitution ring in Phoenix.

A teacher alerted authorities after discovering a 15-year-old student was leading a double life as a a prostitute. The teacher, suspicious, searched the girl’s bag to find condoms and information on both her pimp and the agency for which she worked.The police searched the girl’s home to find thousands of dollars in cash hidden in the family’s loft. They arrested her parents on suspicion of having a hand in prostituting their daughter, but they have since been released from custody without charges. The girl moved to England from Eastern Europe with her mother a few years back - a fact which has authorities and children’s services charities worried that the girl might be a part of a wider trend of child sex slaves being “imported” into England and other Western European countries.

Police said the girl was able to convince johns that she was 18. Police estimate that her chocha would have brought in about $120,500. 

The 16-year-old Phoenix girls, meanwhile, are accused of running a child prostitution ring out of their apartment. Tatiana Tye and Jazmine Finley (pictured at right in the photo above) are suspected of luring at least five girls between the ages of 13 and 17 from area schools into the ring. Tye, who does not deny being involved in prostitution but maintains that she did not work as a madam, says she is mostly guilty of allowing her friend to influence her decisions: “She was like ‘What kind of friend are you, just leaving me by myself’ and stuff like that so that’s how I felt. She told me if I left that’s like me leaving her by herself. Being a follower, not a leader, following whatever Finley does and those were bad things.”

It is said that the prostitutes involved would typically make several hundred dollars a night.

Get an education, babies. Yes, school is boring and teachers suck and homework is tedious but graduating and getting a job is so much better than going to jail and having some large woman in an orange jumpsuit carve “Usnavy’s Bitch” into your ass after lights out. And you won’t have to lay awake at night knowing you’re profiting off innocent young women who will not likely fall into a lifelong pattern of self-hatred and a harmful relationship to sex.
