Mexican Town Of Tlacotalpan Proves Angry Bulls And Alcohol Equal Maiming, Fun
3 February 2009, 1:57 PM. By Alex Alvarez
The Mexican town of Tlacotalpan has its own version of Pamplona, Spain’s famed “Running of the Bulls.” In their version, however, the citizens of Tlacotalpan allow a few half-tonne bulls run wildly through the entire town for hours, instead of along a specially designated street for a short period of time. Because… that’s… so much fun?
Adding to the overall… fun… is that townspeople traditionally partake in various “toritos,” the kind of creamy alcoholic drink that makes quite a spectacle when you are eventually gouged by an angry bull.
The town, which lies on a river bank, releases the bulls after they have been tied to the sides of rowboats and made to swim to shore. Once the bulls reach land, they are exhausted. And kind of pissed.
Animal rights activists are also not terribly pleased and cite such harmful traditions as throwing bottles and bricks at the bulls, or frightening them with police sirens and fire crackers. The bulls, in turns, react by, oh, dislocating people’s jaws, kicking them, goring them, or trampling over them with great prejudice. Basically, a win-win situation for all.

I always root for the bulls.
Those ppl are stupid and cruel. Maybe they deserve to be thrown in the air or have a bull horn thrust in their pooper.
what’s in a torito? creamy & alcoholic… I wonder if they put rompope in it?
Los toros… que trieste… kinda. but only because they make tacos out of them when they’re done “fighting”.
Nothing goes to waste. WIN-WIN!
