Woman On Pill Gives Birth To Twins- Twice

22 year old Carly O’Brien somehow got pregnant with twins twice while on the pill. Freakish, yes, but still better than having 14 kids while living at home. On the pill failing for her twice, she said; “Everyone I’ve spoken to, all my friends and family and even the staff at the hospital, say they have never known anything like it.” We should hope not.

So what’s Carly’s deal- was she just eating pez this whole time?

She and her boyfriend had never intended to have kids so even after their joy over her first pregnancy, she decided to switch to a stronger pill. But just 18 months later, she got pregnant a second time, and a scan revealed she was smuggling twins, again.

Here’s the part that’ll make you run screaming the next time your boyfriend tries to touch you: Taking the pill might increase your chances of having twins. Birth control pills mess with your hormones, but if the hormones get out of whack they can cause “hyperovulation” a.k.a. when your ovaries release multiple eggs. Carly’s situation is extremely rare, like 11.3 million to 1 rare, but still…shudder.
