Raped 9 Year Old To Abort Twins

A 9 year old Brazilian girl who was allegedly raped by her stepfather will probably abort her pregnancy. She went to the hospital after feeling stomach pains, and was found to be four months pregnant with twins, to the horror of her doctor, who explained; “She doesn’t have a pelvis able to support a gestation of twins.”

The girl is now under the care of the maternity hospital, where medical and psychological staff are working with her, and her 23 year old stepfather is in custody. Police say that he had been abusing her and her handicapped sister for at least the past three years, and that he was paying her 50 cents for each encounter. So yeah, that’s one of the more horrific things we’ve ever heard.

Compared with this, the 13 year old maybe-father Alfie looks like a shining example of paternalism. But maybe in that case, the mother should have considered abortion, too? Whether you’re pro-life or pro-choice, it seems unconscionable to ask a 9 year old to take responsibility for something that was forced on her by an adult, especially if it puts her life at risk in the process.
