Soccer Player Andrea Vasa Is Living In A Milan Store, Looking Hot
27 March 2009, 10:30 AM. By Alex Alvarez
Andrea Vasa, a soccer player for Milan’s club Brera, is currently living in a Milanese Dirk Bikkembergs boutique. The store has been converted into an apartment of sorts, and Vasa’s personal clothing, photographs, books and toiletries can be found scattered among the merchandise for sale. Vasa is able to invite friends and family over, and even has a housekeeper to keep things tidy. He does have his own bathroom in the store - a room plastered with pages from the Gazzetta dello Sport - but the shower is not visible. So. Apologies.
Vasa’s role in the store is to act like something of a beautiful artifact to be ogled. Finally, objectification meets capitalism in a way we fully endorse:
Among the shelves and clothes hangers exposing the items that are for sale, Andrea’s personal clothes can be found, as well as the pictures and books he chose to take with him to his new home. Andrea lives in the apartment at Via Manzoni 47 in total freedom. He can invite family and friends and can count on a housekeeper, who will tidy up his living quarters at set times or upon demand. His role is to be admired alongside the sunglasses, shirts, jackets and football boots. Visitors can come and have a look at his wardrobe.
And, when Vasa needs to leave the store, he can be sure to make a grand exit:
Before going out, Andrea will take a shower in a relax room papered with pages from Gazzetta dello Sport, compose his outfit for the following occasion, preen himself in one of the silver trophies, step into his Porsche and drive it out through a massive window that doubles as a garage door.
Nice.
