Argentina Sets World Record With 100 Breast Implants A Day

At the end of 2008, Argentina reached an average of 100 breast implants a day, setting a new world record for vanity, er, plastic surgery. “Something’s wrong when women can’t hang on to their own ‘lolas,’” a local journalist remarked upon hearing the news from the Argentine Society of Aesthetic and Restorative Plastic Surgery.
Indeed, the average Argentinean boob job is obtained, not by older women whose bodies are sagging with age, but by young women in their twenties. We’ve often marveled at the total acceptance of the practice down South and watched, (kind of in horror), as it becomes quite normalized in the states, as well. What do you guys think about the societal acceptance of cosmetic enhancement? Is it part of our Latino heritage?

I know a lot of Argentine women, and every single one of them has had something done, whether it be Botox or something more invasive.
ALL WOMEN who have had operations to enlarge or replace breasts are to be traced and placed on a national register, the Department of Health has announced.
